Today I did my first ever spin class. It was fun, hard and man my thighs are sore. My upper body strength is weak. I can't hold myself up but maybe 1 song in class. Then later came back and got in the pool. I can't free style swim but for half the length of the pool. I did what I had to do to get to the end. I did 5 laps today. My arms are sore and wore out. So the hard part of swimming free style is getting the rhythm of the breathing and the turn with the arms. I took in a lot of water today. So E said tomorrow we will sit at the shallow in and practice the movement. I have to swim everyday, even when I do not want too.
Tomorrow I have to start my triathlon workout. It is set up to go in the completion of the race. 3 times this week I have to do it. And Get another spin class in. Now I am at the point I HAVE to get up in the morning and put my miles in. Plus I have to intake even more protein. I will post all my numbers tomorrow. And I have to be in bed no later than 10:30p.
SO gotta go....

That is so cool! I'm glad you did the spin class - greaat cardio for sure.
Isn't it amazing how hard swimming can be when you're doing it for real? I know when I started I was about where you are and it was rough. I still have trouble with the breathing. I never feel like I get enough air when I turn my head. You might want to see if there are any swimming master classes in your area - I hear they are great as they will watch your form and give you tips and things to try to help you improve.
Just keep swimming :)!
I think it is great you are trying a new challenge. Best of luck in this new journey!
Make sure you're logging this work, the laps and how you felt after doing it. After a month or so of doing that, look back and enjoy how far you've gotten! I started to do that with my running and have amazed myself as how much progress can be made in a short period of time.
You're doing great, Rae! Truely amazing all of us for sure.
How exciting - brand new challenges for you!! I am so excited for you - and trying a Spin Class is great. It's the one thing I would love to do. My gym, unfortunately, doesn't do any but my mum's gym does, so I think next time I visit I'll coincide it with the spin class...
And great you're registered for the Princess Half! And you won't be alone - you will have team voice with you ;) And I will be there - I will be the slow Scottish girl crawling with the sore knee and bruised foot....lol I can't wait to meet you! And to hear about your triathalon progress too!!!
You are a true inspiration!
