It is Far Far Away..... Still.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday. We did. And now it is time to get my lazy, no reason why for not training butt out the door.
I just can't. I can but I don't. :( So I have been tracking the weather and I have all my gear and I am getting ready for this trip. I am so ready, but yet I am slacking. I don't get it.

I was unable to enroll the child into the race it was full again but she is coming. Now she wants to ride her bike while we are out there. haha She doesn't want to miss it. Kid is so silly.
WWE is coming to town this week and I am not going cause I am saving my money for the trip.

Other than that nothing new here. It has been hot here. Cool in the mornings and really warm in the afternoons. So Not sure what to wear just yet.

I can not wait to go!!!!!!! Today is dragging!!!! oh the agony of it all!

And we didn't do the 5k today either. We had a slight urgent family matter and couldn't go. So no end of the year race. :(

The Crisp Is In The Air...Here Too

Hey! has anyone received their Team Voice shirts?? It has been a week and a day now since I mailed them all out and I mailed as 3 day! Please let me know.

Well the ole right hand is acting up again. I can hardly hold anything in it and the pain comes and goes in spazms. This is not what I wanted to deal with. I still haven't made it out the door or to the gym. The teen drama has become awful since winter break started. My one thinks it is a free for all. that the world stops and I am the bad guy trying to stop them from having any fun.:( So by the time I am done dealing with that, my brain is in overtime and I and exhausted from it.

I get to work the next 2 days. Unless they try to cancel me. Not much going on for surgeries.

As long as things go right, We will be arriving in Disney 1/6 late evening. One of my 2 kids do not want to go. "we go to much" What?!? Are you kidding me?!? This is a big deal!!! And you will have a blast!! And the rolling of the eyes and stuff. The child thinks we all will be boring. No other kids around .I said yes there will be and some want to meet you. Really?? I still don't want to go. It's a never ending battle. I never thought I would hear a kid say I don't want to go to Disney world.
Send some love to this kid PLEASE!!! Maybe we all can ride Rockin Roller coaster together!!! Something!!! { that is a new found love for the little one}

Ok We don't have the snow to deal with, and the cold blasting air all the time. But let me say it is chilly way down here. And the wind will not stop!! {remember I have less instillation now} hahaha.

It's coming..... We got the confirmation for FJ and his volunteer hours. he will be getting 2 one day park passes and a bonus 1 day water park pass!! That is for volunteering all those hours.
He is so pumped. I also received a e-mail they opened 30 new slots for the volunteers to enter into the races!! I am putting Nat in the 5k and she will be so excited,I think. She was mad I didn't put her in it before. So please send the love!!!!

0 Miles, Lots Of Baking..

Here I am. It's been a week and I have not made it out the door. I am not feeling down, it's not because I don't have the time to get out there, I just haven't done it. I am super excited about the holiday coming up, even though I am working it, I can't wait for the holiday. Then the Saturday after we will be doing a 5k and becoming members of the local chapter of RRCA.

Three more weeks!!! Holy cats!! Three more weeks. I get emotional thinking of it. Why? I have worked so hard even when I didn't want to,and I love Walt Disney World. If it wasn't for the fact that I stumbled on the races back in 2005, I would be doing this now. WOW!!!

Yesterday we were making oatmeal cookies. Then the Oatmeal cookies turned into Oatmeal cookies with raisins and chocolate chips. Now today I am baking chocolate chip cookies. Serving size is 2 cookies calories 140. Not bad, since they don't have tons of crap in them.

I have been listening the Running shoe on I tunes,I like the podcast. He talks about stuff that beginners and the elite have to deal with, and the shows are live too.

Hump Day

Here we are a week before Christmas and all through my house is prepping and getting ready for the holiday and the Half.
The last 2 days at work drained me. I was so tired and wore out I was didn't do any training. None.
SO.... now I will be doing resistance and mini mileage. Then a long run on Friday.

I was able to get my blackberry reset and it is working just fine. The catch is that now I do not have anyone's phone numbers. I have some in my address book on my desk. Do please resend me numbers!!!!

I received a e-mail with a lot of news for the Marathon weekend. I have the link here to track your runner.

And here is a picture of the medal pins that will be available first at the Health expo. And this is what the medals will look like too.

Are they cool or what?! I can not wait to go!!

We are doing a local 5k on the 27th. It is called 2008 Resolution 5k. The entrance fee is the member fee for the RRCA. The local chapter. This will give me access to tracks, and coaches, and tempo runs. And long distance runs. We were thinking about signing up the entire family. And we will get discounts at the running store we go to, and discounts on the races.

Is anyone going to be doing the runner's retreat?? We thought about it.

Yesterday I was suppose to do my long run. Was unable to do to drama. So now my question is should I do my long miles today, and then this coming Friday do my next long run, since I work this weekend coming?? So I did my ab.circuit so I would not make my legs so sore,that my long run would suffer. I weighed in yesterday to. And I dropped another 2 pounds!! :)

My wonderful little buddy my blackberry is well not working correctly. I do not get my e-mails on it and I can not access the Internet. It on it's last legs. I can get text and phone calls,but that is it. SO if I do not answer right away,please bear with me. I will be replacing it in 2 weeks. {if it last that long}

The Team Voice shirts are being mailed out tomorrow and Those of you who are waiting till the race I will bring them with me. And I have extra shirts if anyone wants one. They are $17.99 a shirt and I will donate $5.00 dollars of each shirt to Jonathan.

I ended up doing 6.3 miles this evening. We did it in 1:25. We shaved off 5 minutes!! Man what a head wind. I was getting a cramp in my left side, it was enough to make me slow down until it passed. Then I got a bug in my eye.I was wearing sunglasses too. We used our new headlamps tonight. I was making sure I was being seen and we were complemented on them too.
so to start off the week is good. :)

It's Official, I am Super Duper Excited Now!!

Hellllloooooo Humans!!!!!! {aaaggghhhhhaa}

The last 2 days have been tough. Work has been busy. My floor was bombed with surgeries.

First off the thing that has been weighing on my head is the time off. I got my schedule on Wednesday. I didn't see it till I took a break in the morning. I ran over to the board and when I saw that they GAVE ME THE TIME OFF!!!! I was so excited and happy I was crying!!! No one was able to wipe the smile off my face. Even if we had a code I would have smiled through the entire thing.

We will be arriving late on 1/6/09. and staying through 1/11/09!!!!!! HOLY CATS!!! This is really going to happen!!! I am going to be doing the Disney Half Marathon!!! Are you kidding me!!!??!! {grinning here, glowing}

SO back to training. Tuesday I did the hill sprints. my total mileage for that was 2.96 my fastest yet!!!! Very proud. And then on Wednesday I rested since I was so tired,I fell asleep eating dinner. Yes eating dinner, which is a lite meal. Tonight I had to do the dreadmill, the weather here is nasty, so I RAN the entire 5k loop non stop, in 39 minutes, that was a 12 minute pace average. 496 in calories.speed 5.0 I could breathe, and I have not EVER been able to go that fast!!! HOLY CATS!!

We got our new trainers. I was able get women's this time and they are smaller!!! They are still Brooks. I saw a fanny pack, with a water bottle, that lays horizontal and has a pocket big enough for phone,keys and snack. I will be getting this one.

I made an appointment to see my Orthro Doctor after the Half Marathon. Why?? So I can show off my medals, and create a plan to continue to the Full.And find out if I have ITS band issues in my left knee area. {he is also a Sports Medicine Doctor too 3rd in the nation!!

Holy Cats!!! I am really going to get to do this!!!!!

# 39032, What Is Yours??

Another day closer to the Half. I am so excited. I have noticed that it is getting much easier too. All the sudden the kids are back out the door with me. Both are surprised that I do not have to to and rest to catch my breathe. They were both ready and waiting for me to get home on Monday night in their Team Voice shirts. That was cool.

Speaking of shirts, I am mailing them out today, if I have your address and if they are paid for. I have a list from PayPal. I will send you a E-mail out after I mail it.

Have you printed your Race Pick- up card and waiver?? I did. And that is the number in the tittle. In my favorite places click the WDW Marathon 2009 and you will find it.

We did another 2.00 miles last night. That was all the time I had for. At least I still made it out the door. E got me a headlight to wear on my head, while out running at night. It works great and the cars can see me. I look funny but hey it works. Does any one know where to get a good fanny pack to wear in the race?? We went to Sports Authority and they have none. Tons of shoes and clothes on sale.

Suggestions please!!!!

Going to go get fitted to new trainers today. And then we will be gear ready for the race,except for the fanny pack issue. Ordered my Vitamins and supplements. Stocking up on the protein water to have after the race.

Resistance workout today. I am spreading it out throughout my day.

Did you read that they remade the medals?? The new and improved?? I haven't found any pictures yet. As soon As I get one I will post it.

Another day.

Last night I did 2.5 miles in 31 minutes. Plus resistance.Tonight I did 2.25 in 33 minutes. I was tired after a day at work.Plus the air is cooler tonight and it made it harder for me to breathe. MY son went with me both nights. And tonight both my youngins went running with me. All the sudden everyone likes running again.

That is pretty much it. Except for work. I don't think that would be fun to talk about. SO I am going to bed. Until tomorrow!!!!

The Fog Is Lifting....

Here I am . Today I am sore as a you know what!!! 10.3 miles last night. And we did it in 2:25:35!!!!! Sweet!!! I shaved off 7 minutes. :)

My trainer and I spoke yesterday, and it helped me out. I felt like my spirit had been broken. I am still not quite back to me but I am better.

As pointed out, my physical body has changed. And I think it has set in. And I am now realizing how much I have changed on the outside.Ex. None of my clothes fit, or shoes!! I get cold when it is cold outside. I never had that problem being heavy. All what I called my comfort zones, are now gone. I have nothing to hide behind. I still have a ways to go, and it will be a little bit harder to get the rest of the weight off. I can except that. Some of my family members are showing that they to are having a hard time with the physical changes too. They have seen me at both ends of the weight. Thin and heavy. We are working through this, and that's why I am feeling better. I don't want to throw away all my hard work in training. I am doing this for me.

The family is going to have to except that. A couple hours out of the day is not going to hurt anyone.I feel better when I am done. My mind, my body, and spirit.

So with that, I am Rae and I am a long distance runner, no matter how slow or fast I am I am a long distance runner, till I am no longer able to run.

I head back to work tomorrow, I am hoping I will see the new schedule and with the time off. Please everyone cross your fingers and toes.{sweating bullets here}

Here shortly I will be doing my resistance workout. I know I should be doing nothing,today after a long run.

I am going to recommend everyone to pick up this issue of Runner's World. The Disney Marathon is in it with some great pictures, and some great articles for us beginners.

Team Voice Has been one of my favorite supports and I have to say without all of you, I may not have got my on that horse. It is neat. Over the last year. I have sat here reading everyone's blogs and the boards, watching how we all have struggled and and made personal best. I am so very proud of all of you in the Team and I am even happier to be able to call all of you my friends.

I am Proud.. Of Me!

Today was one of the busiest days at work. I was tired today.

On the home front things were quiet. For once. That was nice.:)

Tomorrow they are going to be working on the schedule. The young lady that is doing the schedule knows, I explained to her how hard I have been working. If I can't get all of it at the very least Thursday- Sunday. If I get Wednesday I have to stick around long enough to do my CPR class then after that, I can leave. SO..... fingers crossed.

Tonight I did on the dread mill set b Cardio.
30 minutes of running, every 5 minutes I changed my incline and speed.
1. incline 5, speed 3.4 warm up
2. incline 5, speed 4.7,.27-.59 mile
3.. incline 6, speed 4.5, .69-.96 mile
4. incline 7, speed 4.2, 1.16- 1.31 mile
5. incline 8, speed 4.1, 1.41- 1.66 mile
last 5 minutes incline 5, speed 4.8, 1.50 - 2.05
that was 4 minutes on and 1 minute rest. I am almost to my 5 minute goal!!!
I had to work real hard and dig real dip to do this. The last minute of each one I had to hold on, but I did it. My breathing tried to take over, I fought it and I gained control of it.

I am sitting on the fence with doing my long miles tomorrow in the early evening so E can go with me. And we can see the Christmas Decorations! And I promise I will not stop in the middle of them and go home. I will follow through.

The Verdict Is.......

First off I would like to say how much every one's support means to me. Thank you!!!

I took a couple days off. I had to get my head clear and decide what I want to do. I have a lot of drama here in my home. And it has made things very difficult.

After a long discussion with my trainer who gives such great guidance, and after a long discussion with the family. I have come to the conclusion that I will continue to train, and follow this through, as long as I get the time off from work and less drama.I have to wait another 2-3 weeks before I know if I have it off.

I know I can do the distance, and I know I can do a 13 minute mile. I am good up to mile 7-8 then I start to slow down. But at that point I do believe they will leave all of us alone.

With that....
I did my sprints last night on the dreadmill.
These were the fastest ones I have ever done. I pushed real hard. I tracked my sprint time.
Here is my time.
first 5 minutes, was incline 5, at speed 3.4
the the next 15 minutes was at incline 0, and speed 7.0, 30 seconds on, and 30 off. 1.26 I was on then for 30 seconds later I was off at 1.34. That;s how that went. I do not know how to count the splits.
then the last 10 minutes, was incline 10, at speed 5.0, 30 seconds on and 30 off. 2.26 on and then 2.31 off.. My ending miles was 2.99 miles.
Then this morning at 4:45am,yes I said this morning, I did 2.0 miles outside. Before work. I was going to do 2.5 miles. ANd now I am doing my resistance work out and then tomorrow 2.5 miles before work then the hill sprints when I get home after work.
