To Quit Or Not To Quit.....

I did 8 miles yesterday. I was suppose to do 10.

I have been rolling around the thought of quitting. Why?? Because the fun has left. Now it is like pulling teeth. My job isn't working with me I have to wait till the next schedule comes out to find out if I get the time off. I lost my room trying to change dates to make the job happy. I can't get E out the door any more. Kids don't want to train any more. Every time I go out and put miles in I nearly get hit by a car. They say they can't see me in my bright yellow running shirt.
I need to go get gear that fits. E needs new running shoes and he won't go get any. I new a new pair that are going to fit.I have lost enough weight that my shoe size has changed. My kids are trying to stay home My daughter asked my best friend if she could stay with them. :(
And there other other things going on too. :( It seems the closer we get more goes wrong. Never mind that when I go the long distance miles I can't keep the 16 minute pace. I will get picked up. And I don't have the support like I use to get from my family. :(

I am going to go down to the post office and start mailing out the shirts. I will e- mail you when I mail them, and I will keep everyone posted on What I do decide to do.

Give Thanks

Today is a day to give thanks. To reflect on your family and friends. Thank your family for the endless love and support,and let them know how greatful you are for them. Thank your friends for the endless shoulder to lean on when you need it the most.
Give thanks for eveything you have,and your health. Without your health were would you be right now?
Give thanks today for waking up, and traveling around the sun again to give Thanks.

Not Again.....

The Half Marathon is now becoming a challenge. Because I had to change my dates,I lost my room. They are looking high and low to see where else they can get us on site. Other wise I am going to look else where to stay. :( I am not very happy with my Boss at the moment. I put in for the time back at the first of October. I know it hasn't been easy at work with the floor not open, but now it is interfering with my life. And all my hard work.

I feel sick to my stomach again. :(

So Am i going to go through this for the Princess Half too?? And when we go to fly out to Disneyland??

I did my resistance workout for set a and b. Then I went out and did 2.0 miles. I felt like I needed to go out and do it. So i did. Note to self, doing miles after doing 2 rounds of of 2 different types of squats is not easy. Plus the other stuff. I plan on doing my long on Friday morning.

Just got the e-mail stating there are no Disney Resort Rooms now. What?!
Because I had to change the dates!!! @!?@!

Boss I am sorry if I am short with you at work in the AM. :(

I have noticed that my comments that I send from my bb are not saved on my friends blogs. Weird.

Today I tried to sleep in. Didn't work. I haven't done a thing yet today. But never fear, I have to get moving and go to the gym and do my cardio workout and then do the resistance workout. I am debating on doing the long tomorrow since I will be working on Wednesday. And family will be here for holiday.

I had to redo my ressie for the trip. I am not so sure how long we will be there. Again the job is causing waves with the half. The way the schedule is going and all this reassigning, I am not sure who is my boss any more. { i know it doesn't make sense}


Planning for Thanksgiving is and has been a challenge. I am working, and I don't want to mess up my intake. So I am waiting to hear if I can have my large intake day on Thursday. I have pulled out the Hungry Girl cook book and I am planning away. My Mom doesn't like it. Hey this is what works for me.

I am going to go purchase new running gear. Get what I need, make sure I have something for cold and warm. And it will fit.haha

I did my fasted 2.5 miles on Monday evening. 34:49 minutes. I fell asleep last night,so I didn't get anything done. :( We have to map a a new long route. They are working on the road I use and have the sidewalk blocked off.That forces me into the road. I did it once not again till they are done. My Garmin isn't functioning right.So back to map it, and driving out my miles.

Have you seen the new Disney Wide World of Sports website? I have to update my links. It's cool. But what I don't like is that it doesn't tell you how full the races are.

I weighed in over the weekend and I dumped -1.That is great. I am still moving in the right direction.

Long time since the last post. Blogger has been apart of the problem for blogging. I do not understand the issues.

We went to the races and we had a blast. The kids love it. I haven't down loaded all the pictures yet.

I have been training. I did my cardio work outs and man they are tough. My legs have been real sore and my abs and the core have been feeling it too. Here is what I have been doing for a week.

PART A

Cardio:
30 minutes running- start a 5 minute warmup speed walking at 3.4 and incline 5. Keep incline at 5, and for the next 5 minutes run at speed 4.7. Next, take incline to 6 and speed to 4.5- run for another 5 minutes. Next, take incline to 7, speed to 4.2- run for 5 minutes. Next, take incline to 8, speed to 4.1- run for 5. Last 5 minutes, take incline back down to 5, and speed to 4.8.-- This willbe difficult at first, so if you have to, run for the 2 minutes, rest for 1, then run for 2, rest for 1, and so forth. If you can, run for 4, rest for 1.

RESISTANCE (repeat each set 5 times!)

Set A
10 "walkout" pushups
30 sumo squats
50 bicycle crunches

Set B
20 alternating lunges
10 scissor crunches
15 bridges


PART B

Cardio:
30 minutes on treadmill- 5 minute warm up walking at 3.4, incline 5. For next 15 minutes, take incline to 0, speed to between 6.5-8.0 (whatever feels difficult (very difficult) but doable!). Run sprints- 30 seconds on/30 seconds off. After you've reached the 20 minute mark, take your incline to incline 10, and your speed to 5.0. Run 30 second on/30 second off hillsprints for the remainder of the time.

RESISTANCE

Set A
10 alternating pushups- start in plank position and one by one, lower yourself onto your elbows and then back up, so the rhythm would be right down, left down, right up, left up.
30 mountain climbers
15 traditional situps

Set B
30 weighted squats (holding 5 lb dumbbells)
20 reverse crunches
15 traditional pushups

Today I went outside and did 2.5 miles in a good time. Couldn't say what it is the garmin wasn't working. I ran nonstop tonight. I could not believe it. I did. And I didn't panic. Tomorrow is my long. It is cold down here!!! It is going to be 41 in the morning and maybe make it to 65!!! Then add the wind chill in they said it will feel like 48-50!!!! Well this is training, and I will find out how I do in this weather.

Teen drama is here in the home front. It is hard to deal with the stress of it and then try to move on and train with the emotional drain from it. :(

I have been sorting through the running shirts and getting them ready to ship out. I love my shirt. It keeps you dry and cool.

I think we will have things worked out for the race in Jan. My Boss thought it was in Dec. and that is why he was giving me such a hard time. I am looking at getting there Tuesday evening or Wednesday. We will see.

I Am At Lost For Words.... Updated


It was really busy at work yesterday. I asked mt Boss about the time off in Jan.09 for the half. He came back at me with do you have the time?? I said no It's not my fault that I get canceled all the time. Well he said he will give me the weekend off.{ that is my scheduled weekend anyway}

WHAT!?! Are you kidding me?!?

I started to dry heave.

I am standing there in shock. Just the weekend?? My Boss knows I have been training for this. HE knows, He reads this!!! I was so sick to my stomach. I have to go in and do some stuff there today and fill out my schedule. I am working the holidays to have that time off. :( :(

I have the room!!!

I am paid for the race!!!!

I was back to dry heaving again.

I wanted to go home.

I was so sore form my new training, my glutes are sore, my thighs. HOLY CATS!!!!! That is being nice! I fell asleep when I got home. So I didn't do any training at all yesterday.

I will update later today and find out what I am going to do.
Update
Nothing. I filled out my schedule and I put in to work on the Wednesday before the race. That means if the Boss agrees to it I will be up there Wednesday night. So I will have to change my room dates. And it still comes out cheaper to have the room for the 7 days than for the 5 days. So that's where we are at and I will not know till after Christmas!!!! Oh my... I do not think I can wait that long!!! :(

Miles In


I did my long miles today.
I must say I was so sore today before I went out. I was rained on today twice and I ended up walking most of my miles today. I did 8.3 miles in a awful time but I finished. I will not do a long wog right after a new workout. So with that I may go back to doing the longs in the evening with E. I was worried I was going to fall on the wet side walk. In the morning E and I are going to try to get up and put in some short miles. Then when I get home from work I will do part B workout of my new workout.

That is about it for today. Nothing else new today.
I am just dreading going to work tomorrow. :(

Just Another Day


Did my new workout today. Man my legs are tired and tight. Tomorrow is my long miles. A lot of squats and lunges. And the treadmill work was alot of incline too. I don't mind since we do not have any hills here.

OK so far it looks like we will be staying at All Star Sports again. I got the 4 nights and 3 free. I am waiting to hear if we get the Disney money and move d to the movies. too.
And on Wednesday I will find out if I get the entire week off. I will bug my Boss. I plan on working the holidays. All I know if the staff on the units I have been going to have been rude and nasty. It makes it hard to go to work. I can't wait till my floor opens again.

I have been studying my ekg over again.So I can take the test at work,pass and maybe get moved to the ER. Less drama.

We are also planning to go back to the World and resort hop to see all the holiday deco. That will take a couple of days to do. Not sure if we are going to make Mouse Fest. We will see.

I didn't make a challenge this month. No one seems to be interested which is fine.The only challenge I will be making is if everyone would help me to help Jonathan make his goal of sending a child to Disney. Simple. He is close,but not enough. Jonathan is having some challenges of his own and we all need to help.

T.G.I.F.


I just found out we won't be doing the local 5k. They changed the date and E has acquired some tickets to go to the Homestead Nascar race that same weekend. Cool!!! My kids have never been to a race.I can't wait. Everyone is excited. So now I need to figure out when to do my next long mileage day. I was going to take today off but I feel guilty for not doing any.

Oh boy my trainer is working on a workout to help build my endurance and strength. I have been doing the the ab. circuit she gave me. I have to do more reps now, I told here that and she said that is good. I still struggle with the planks.She asked me if I wanted to start adding more miles? I said yes, since the plan is to do the Goofy 2010. My trainer said she just wanted to make sure I was still planning that.

My Mickey isn't hard to carry as I thought he would be. He clips right on the fanny pack. Thanks Deb!!! :)

I sent in the room request for the half. I am waiting to hear if we can get the 4 days and 3 free ones.I hope I get the time off. They know how hard I have been working to do this. Now one of the girls at work want me to do the Miami half later in the same month!!! I told her we will see, depends on how I do at WDW.

Can you tell I am nervous and excited!!

Jonathan my heart goes out to you and you family. I will keep your Father in my prayers. He has a long road to recovery. Have faith. :)

Back to work this weekend. :( I hope they give me a nice assignment.

Where Is The Time Going....

Hey the post box is up!!!! I have not been able to post in a week!

We had so much fun with everyone and I can not wait for Jan. 09 I am going to have Dreams Unlimited start working on Pop for Jan.09 And I am hoping that my Boss gives me that week off.

I have some addresses for all of you. I am going to start sending out Team Voice shirts that are paid for. They are awesome and they do there job. I am sending out the last payment for them. So I will have them in the mail next week.

While we were at WDW someone stepped on the back of mt flip flop. As I went to take a step forward, I lost my balance and messed up the top of my right foot. It didn't start to hurt until 3 days later,and swelled up right out of my flip flop. I had to wear my running shoes.That was the only shoes I could get on that foot. The swelling has gone down a little. I was worried that it was fractured on the top of my foot. It's not.{whew} Just deep tissue bruising.

For the Month of October I did 69.00 miles. Today I did 9.10 miles. I have to start to get the long distances in. I wore out in 7.5 and I ran out of water, and I forgot my snack. So I was feeling it. I had to walk the last 1.75 miles. When I got in I sat in a cold bath. My legs were sore. It helped. I need new trainers. My feet side around in my trainers so much, my middle toes are sore. We are so close to the half I can't believe it. And I did it without E this morning.

I have a new speed walking buddy. He is cool. He hangs out on my fanny pack and he watches my back for me. The only thing is he wants a Team Voice shirt. He said his tux is too hot to wear while we are out. I can't wait to do the half. He will giggle and shake while we go through the parks. Guess who it is yet?? He slows the cars down as they come up from behind too. The drivers stare as they go by. {never mind the bright yellow shirt} Figured it out yet??? lol

I have to make a phone call, we all are going to be doing the Fantasy of Light walk run 5k next week. It is at 6p, and we get to go through the holiday lights that are set up in one of our local parks. Doing that one will take place of my Turkey trot, since I plan on working for Thanksgiving. {waiting on new schedule}

Can you believe I am thinking of doing the Goofy 2010! It depends on how well I do in the Half. MY first Half. Sweet!!!!

Oh btw.... ride the TOT in the dark during some extra magic hours, wow!!!
